Every second year the 'Tour de France' winds its way up to the Col de Galibier, passing Valloire. Nevertheless, this picturesque mountain village is nearly unknow as a ski paradise. It is situated in the middle of the ski area Valloire/Valmeinier, in a valley at the bottom of the Galibier glacier. Thanks to a versatile snowpark the ski area is also excellent for snowboarders. There are 10 km of cross-country ski runs. ‚Easyparks‘ in Valloire and Valmeinier offer the little skiers the possibilities to discover playfully the snow and the ski sport. The village Valloire has an alpine charme with a cozy and family friendly atmosphere. Most of the little shops are run by locals. There is a lot of activities and infrastructure: ice-skating rink, wellness-center with sauna, steam bath and whirlpool, bowling, cinema, clubs, restaurants and bars. Every year there is an international snow sculpture contest.
