Val Thorens offers an enormous selection of downhill-pistes in all levels of difficulty, countless possibilities for deep powder snow and freeride skiing and is not least because its 2007 opened snowpark considered as a Mekka for snowboarders. Thanks to the glacier "Cime de Caron" at 3,200 m this ski area that ranges from 1,800 m to 3,230 m is virtually snow-reliable from November to May. Val Thorens is famous not only for its extraordinary skiing possibilities but also for top class après-ski with numerous shops, restaurants, bars, pubs and discoteques. In addition it also offers a modern sports centre with indoor swimming-pool, sauna, whirlpool, steam bath and a large multifunctional sports gym for about 20 sports (among them tennis, squash and table tennis). A great variety of leisure activities such as concerts and guided tours into the Belleville-valley complete the offer. Val Thorens is car-free (except for arrival and departure), parking at fee-based parking or in a garage. The village offers a local shuttle free of charge.
