Winter-Information ski & freerideLa Tzoumaz is linked directly with the biggest Swiss ski area of
'4 Vallées - Verbier' which has 412 kilometers of ski slopes and 92 ski lifts. A new and efficient cable car is the connection to Verbier. Ski slopes in La Tzoumaz are mostly north facing, making snow quality better and therefore downhill tracks to the village possible until the end of the season. There are ski slopes of all grades, for beginners and for experienced skiers. Families and children do best at the Savoleyres – La Tzoumaz section. There are attractive runs in the deep powder snow, e. g. from Les Attelas (2.727 m) via Vallon d’Arbi down to La Tzoumaz (1.500 m). Snowboarders find everything they need at the Snowpark of La Chaux which has different freestyle-lines, boxes and rails. Kids from 3 years on can have their first contact with the snow at the 'Jardin des Neiges' next to the valley station of the cable car.
There is a new ski school in La Tzoumaz, they propose lessons in ski, snowboard, telemark, freestyle etc.; english, german and french spoken :

Toboggan and other winter activities
Children and grown-ups love the 10 km long toboggan run going down from Savoleyres to La Tzoumaz. It is the longest toboggan run of Western Switzerland (access via cable car). A very special experience is a snow shoe walk on marked routes through the larch mountains that offers amazing views over the Rhone Valley. You can also do cross-country skiing.
Summer info
As there is a lot of sun and warm temperatures, the Valais is considered as a very attractive area for summer holidays. There are the famous mountain peaks, turquoise mountain lakes, flowering meadows and picturesque villages - a perfect spot for all sorts of activities.
Walking
The area of La Tzoumaz has approx. 150 km of marked walking trails. There are easy walks without major differences in altitude along the "Suonen" (historic irrigation channels), e. g. Bisse de Vex. You will find a „sensual path“ starting at the forest house (exhibition of local flora and fauna) and leading via twelve stations, partly along the Suone „Bisse de Saxon", to the picturesque Vallon d’Arbi. Our
recommendation: Take the path from La Tzoumaz up to pass Croix de Coeur (2.174 m) where you have an amazing view over the Rhone Valley and to the 4000 m high peaks of Combins mountains. From Savoleyres continue to Pierre Avoi (2.473 m), a rock high above the valley with stunning views over the mountains to the Mont Blanc area.
Mountainbike There are 500 km of trails and signposted tours, e.g. the „Tour du Mont Fort“ or the tour from La Tzoumaz to Verbier that is suitable for families. You can take your bike up in the cable car. New bike park in La Tzoumaz.
